Titus 2:11-14

It is the grace of God that teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions. It is not by saying “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions that we receive the grace of God.

The grace of God teaches us. aka we still have some learning to do but there is grace even amidst our mistakes.

Note to self:

If you can’t read Chinese, don’t be a noob and try experimenting with Chinese laundry detergent bottle look-alikes because you might end up bleaching your clothes instead….

It’s been a while, Tumblr. Let’s see if there’ll be even a tiny bit of success in starting this back up again/keeping up with it while I’m in Taiwan…

Things I’ve thought to myself recently:

- Language doesn’t have to be a barrier, but it will be one if you let it. (Also I have a feeling I’m going to become awfully good at charades these next 2 months)

- Being a grandma/early bird who sleeps at 10-11pmish and wakes up at 6am everyday isn’t so bad.

- Life is better when you have a thankful heart.

- I can feel his Spirit stirring something here and it excites me.

- Don’t constrain yourself. Explore. Try new things. Take risks. Don’t just sit around all day doing nothing. What do you want to remember about this time when you look back in 5 years?

- Whoever invented air conditioning was a genius.

The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention.

When I understand that everything happening to me is to make me more Christ-like, it resolves a great deal of anxiety.
